Been awhile since I posted. Vive la spring break! I’ve got a couple projects on my plate right now. I’m working on a comic-format myth for my Illuminated Manuscripts class (which is basically a graphic-novel appreciation course). I’ll post some images from that shortly. In the meantime, here’s the pencil in progress for my Jim Henson portrait.

I always get a huge kick out foreign-language translations (aka “Engrish”), especially of the Chinese variety. My twin sister had these little gems in her bag the last time she visited me. Sorry for the crappy scanjob.

Just a quick copy of a large-scale Photoshop document that I’m doing raw drawings on. This is part of a story in which a woman continuously buys the same groceries and can’t remember her previous trips to the store.

Nothing to update as far as personal work goes, but I scanned a couple of thumbnails for an editorial portrait project I’m working on for class. I’ve been trying to decide between the Mata Hari, a femme fatale and spy who was executed for espionage during WWI, and Jim Henson.

“The Ballad of the King’s Jest” is due in four days! *panic* I was really struggling with the colors in one particular panel. I wanted to focus on the rajah and make him grand, even though he’s going to be tiny on the page. I’m rather satisfied with the finished product.

And I birthed a watercolor of sorts while I was watching TV the other night. I love watercolors. I don’t do them enough anymore. Sorry, watercolors. I still love joo.
